Facts about Øydis Ueland

Work

My main work is in consumer research where I coordinate Nofima Food’s strategic research programme on consumer and sensory research. My special field of interest concerns how health issues and gender influence consumers’ attitudes and behaviour with respect to food choice. As part of this work I am particularly interested in how consumers’ risk perception and personal experience affect food choice.

Education

I am a nutritionist with a Masters degree in Nutrition from University of Oslo on the topic Energy balance in fat and normal-weight rats. My PhD is in the field of preventive medicine focusing on understanding the epidemiology and etiology of product-related injuries with particular focus on risk perception and experience as mediating factors.
