Project

LowTev

Facts

Start 1. October 2008
End 31. December 2011
Funded by EU

The main goal of the project is to develop washing equipment with reduced water requirement.

In the project LowTev equipment for alternative system for cleaning of surfaces will be developed. The project is financed by EU, and has participants from England, France, Turkey and Norway. A total of seven partners. The SME enterprises will develop the equipment, together with the research institutes Nofima and HERI (in England).

The food industry sector use a large amount of water on cleaning, and there is a requirement of alternative system for cleaning. Micro organisms on the surface in the food industry has the ability of creating biofilm, for example on conveyance equipment for food processors. That includes both bacterias, yeast and mould. When developing washing equipment it is essensial to ensure that it effectively prevent the spread of biofilm, and that the equipment can remove biofilm in cases when it’s current.
