Project

Salmon farming at elevated temperatures

Facts

Start 1. January 2008
End 31. December 2010
In collaboration Institute of Marine Reserach, Marine Harvest Norway, NIFES, Skretting

The goal is to increase our knowledge on how elevated temperatures and suboptimal oxygen levels affect feed uptake, conversion, growth and health parameters of farmed Atlantic salmon in seawater.

Nofima Marin is together with NIFES responsible for functional genomics studies, which may elucidate how temperatures affects fat and protein metabolism, immune status, stress etc.

Project manager is Institute of Marine Reseach by Tom Hansen.
