I am working with applications of ICT in the food industry, especially related to production management, simulation and traceability. Initiated, co-ordinated and participated in numerous traceability projects, including development of generic software tools for internal traceability in various food sectors.
I was co-ordinator of the EU 5FP TraceFish project and leads the Traceability Systems Group in the EU 6FP TRACE project. I have special focus on standardized methods for process mapping in food supply chains, standardized electronic data interchange and specifications of generic infrastructures that underlie chain traceability implementations. Serves as an adviser to the EU, the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Nordic Industrial Fund on these subjects.
