The Norwegian government has started and financed a project called eSporing (www.esporing.no). The aim of the ‘esporings' project is that by 2010 Norway will have an effective electronic infrastructure which makes its possible to follow food stuffs from sea/farm to plate.

Is it possible to follow food stuffs from a consumer package back to sea/farm? Are the any variations between the different food stuff groups?

This project aims to answer these questions. As a part of this project will different food stuffs be purchased in different locations and an attempt will be made to trace them back to their origin.
