Healthy meals

The general Norwegian population are spending an increasingly amout of money on food and meals outside the home. This market is growing strongly, which also makes it increasingly important that such meals should have a good nutritional composition.

Consumers must have the opportunity to choose healthy meals and healthy products. We eat meals, not individual products, and it is the total intake of food through the day and over a period of time that is important. Nofima Mat assists the hotel, restaurant and catering (HoReCa) sector and the kiosk, petrol station and service (kiosk & convenience) market in developing healthier meals and menus. In this context, developing fast food products from fish and other seafood is coming increasingly into focus.

Nofima Mat's knowledge covers the whole length of the value chain. We know how good, healthy meals are created and put together, how products and meals are optimised for health and how existing products can be improved. We can help in the innovation process, we can be a communicator of knowledge and a bridge builder between the authorities, health personnel, nutrition experts, industry, trade and consumers.
