Developing the SALBANK resource

Startdato 1. september 2006
Sluttdato 31. desember 2007

The SALBANK population was set up as an experimental cross to detect QTLs and genes, and was one of the GENOFISK projects. GENOFISK is one of the functional genomics (FUGE) platforms of the Research Council of Norway.

By crossing strains that have been geographically isolated since the glacial period: the relict strain Byglandsbleka and the Norwegian elite population NLA followed by inter crosses, family sets with an expected high degree of variation and contrasts of economically important production traits have been produced.

This resource of genotypic and phenotypic recordings of the SALBANK population, is free of use for research purposes. See pdf to the right.
