Molecular marker (microsatellite and SNP) information and challenge test survival data from family material from national breeding program for cod are combined to identify QTL's for nodavirus resistance in Atlantic cod.
The ultimate goal is to use the QTL information in marker-assisted selection programs (MAS) to improve the selection for disease resistance, which is difficult and expensive trait to improve by conventional selection.
